| Shelby should have been called "Nightmare", at the age of six she still thinks its great fun to tip the water bucket over. She's very loveable though and having won her Champion title she decided to move in to our conservatory so she can get extra fusses at every opportunity! | |

Shelby was a star puppy winning multiple Best Puppy in Breed, Puppy Group placings and she made 2006 a memorable year for us by finishing as the Top Newfoundland Puppy, overhauling her litter brother, Chino, in the process! She continued her winning ways in 2007 with Reserve CCs at Blackpool under Mr. Ellis Hulme and the Scottish Kennel Club under Mr. Mike Sutcliffe before taking time out for maternal duties. Shelby returned to the ring in mid 2008 and won two more Reserve CCs at City of Birmingham under Ms. Delia Sarson and at Belfast under Mr. Gordon Rual. 2009 got off to a great start with Shelby placed second in a large Limit bitch class at Crufts. She followed that up with the Reserve CC (her fifth) at the Northern Newfoundland Club Championship show on 04th April. April 18th 2009 saw Shelby win her first CC under Mr. Eric Prunier from France, handled by a delighted Mark. Three weeks later at the Birmingham National under Liz Cartledge, Shelby was awarded her second Challenge Certificate. On 18 July, under judge Ann Penny at the National Working & Pastoral Breeds Society, Shelby won her third Challenge Certificate and achieved her UK Champion title. In August, Shelby was awarded another Reserve CC by judge Mr. John Evans (Abbeydore) at the first Joint Newfoundland Clubs Championship show. Nine days later at Bournemouth Shelby was part of a memorable "ticket double" for Sandbears winning the Bitch CC and Best of Breed under judge Gordon Cutts (Merrybear) who gave the Dog CC to her litter brother Ch. Sandbears Cappachino ... a great day! Continuing her winning ways, Shelby collected her fifth CC of the year under Dutch judge Mr. R. Doedijns at Darlington. Two more Reserve CCs followed then Shelby won her sixth CC of the year at the Ladies' Kennel Association under specialist judge Patrick Galvin (Merrybear). All in all, 2009 was a memorable year for us and especially for Shelby who finished as the UKs Top Winning Newfoundland Bitch for 2009. |
