A.J. was the matriarch of the Sandbears kennel, she used to boss the youngsters when they needed it. She lived in the house and kept an eye on all that went on.
She was something of a 'lazy bones' but she was always first in line for a fuss and when the mood took her she loved to go for a run with the quad bike. She lived to a good age but is very much missed. As one of our foundation bitches she lives on in her beautiful offspring which included our Champions, Shelby and Chino in one litter and Stride in another. Chino and Stride have won Best In Shows at all-breeed Championship Shows so for AJ to have given us such fantatstic dogs (from different sires) says it all about her as a 'producer'. Rest in peace A.J. you were a very special lady. |

| A.J. had a sucessful show career and was our first Newfoundland to win a Challenge Certificate (under judge Peter Radley at the City of Birmingham show in 2004). She retired from the show ring for maternal duties and then decided that being lazy was much more her thing! | |
